Matcha Tiramisu is the best in Kyoto. The cream is so smooth and delicate with the cake underneath. Not too sweet. Perfect balance of everything. So decadent and delicious. I tried it 2 times in this place and the other one in Gion street district. The one Gion street had strawberry powder tiramisu but no roasted matcha powder. Lots of people waiting in line. But not too long of a wait. Has restrooms. Plenty of table/seats. Outside seating, first floor and second floor seating.

As a matcha lover I really wanted to go to Maccha House in Japan! On our very last day, my plan was to arrive at Maccha House exactly when it opened. When we arrived we were asked to order using the menu and I knew I wanted to try the tiramisu! There seemed to be a special - you could get a drink and tiramisu for a cheap price so we decided to do that! We decided to sit down and there was a lot of setting! When the food was really we went up to the counter to pick up the dish. I'd seen the tiramisu on a friends Tik Tok and when it arrived, my first impression was its a lot smaller than expected. And the drink or so we thought we ordered was a shot of matcha? Or I think mixed matcha with water or milk. I wasn't sure, the second we digged into the tiramisu it was delicious! So creamy, so good. The matcha shot was unsweetened and very strong. At the front there was water, utensils and some creamers so I decided to grab a few creamers and dumped them into the shot, we also added some of the tiramisu cream and YUM so much better. When we're finished there was an area for the return plates so we put our plate there and left. The tiramisu is so good- I've never tried matcha tiramisu and glad we had it in Japan. I'd love to go back to Maccha house and try some of there other items! Highly recommend!! Maybe use google translate to understand what you ordered so you don't end up with a tiramisu+creamer+matcha drink .

A must stop for matcha lovers and skpetics alike. I had seen the viral match tirimisu on TikTok and had to stop in to try it during our stay here. Wow did it blow my expectations away. Creamy and flavorful but not overly sweet. There was also a sakura version that was seasonal which I thought would have matcha as well but it as just sakura flavor, which was quite sweet and missing some of the tang that came with the Matcha. I stopped in here a second time to try the strawberry matcha drink, which had a lovely layer of strawberry puree to balance out the matcha, perfect for anyone looking to dip their toe in the matcha world. Ambience was peaceful and service was helpful.

Pretty long wait on a weekday afternoon. Service was okay. You order at the cashier and they give you a table. Everything tasted good and had good matcha flavor.

So I am not a matcha girl but when in Japan, you gotta get matcha. I got a hot brown sugar matcha latte. It was actually really good! I was not expecting the whipped cream and drizzle but it was good. It was also more firm than the traditional whipped cream you normally get in America. We sat outside and it was a lovely afternoon. When you finish, you take your tray to the back.

Must try for matcha lovers and anyone who visits Sannenzaka! The matcha they use is absolutely delicious, and the tiramisu is one of a kind. It's pretty popular, but tables open up pretty frequently as it's a quick snack spot, so don't be afraid to line up. Make sure to grab a table before ordering! Just a note that the matcha may be a little hit or miss sometimes. Last time I went the matcha was very good, but this time it was a bit too watery and didn't have strong flavours. Hope it's a one off thing though, so would definitely still recommend!

Stopped in for the famous matcha tiramisu. It was very light and fluffy. Creamy and sweet but light in flavor. Lots of people in the cafe, but we were able to find a seat outside on the patio. Didn't take too long to get my order despite how busy it was.

So good!! Tucked away in the neighborhood of Sannenzaka, this is a traditional yet cute cafe that serves amazing matcha and hojicha desserts! You grab a seat first when you enter and go up to the counter to order. It was so easy even if you do not speak Japanese. Service as usual in Japan is super nice and polite. The tiramisus we ordered was soooo yummy and light. Definitely worth the hype! The light coffee flavor from the cake at the bottom was not overpowering the tea flavors! I miss it so much and wished we had a location closer to me in the states.

Easily my favorite dessert in Japan! I'd seen this of course on instagram and TikTok and bookmarked it immediately. We waited outside at 10am only to find out that it opened at 11am. We got both the uji matcha tiramisu drink set and the roasted green tea tiramisu drink set. It was 800 yen each so total came out to $10 and some change. Wow mind blowingly delicious-- the tiramisu is creamy and has cake all the way at the bottom. Had to scrape every inch of the wooden box to savor all the flavor. The presentation is cute and unique, along with everything else in Japan. When we got in, one of the employees made us reserve seats before we could order. I had my hubby find a table but the employee still made me get out of line to sit ...only to see other people remain in line. Anyway it was ineffective and even though I was first in line, I had to go to the back of the line. Service is surprisingly quick and the line got fairly long shortly after opening. Highly recommend. If you're full from all the food, make room for this because it's worth it.
